Nikesh Shukla in Conversation with Nish Kumar: The One Who Wrote Destiny
This event is part of the Asia House Bagri Foundation Literature Festival 2018. #AsiaLitFest
‘Very funny but packs a hell of an emotional punch’ is how stand-up comedian Nish Kumar reviewed Nikesh Shukla’s latest novel – The One Who Wrote Destiny. The story follows three generations of the same family riven by feuds and falling-outs, united by fates and fortunes. Shukla’s third novel shines a light on racism and assimilation in Britain as well as moving across decades and places – from Kenya to Keighley.
Shukla will be in conversation with Nish Kumar, discussing the themes and issues from the book as well as drawing from their own experiences of growing up in the UK as British South Asians.
