In June 1348 the Black Death first entered England through the port of Melcombe in Dorset. Minette Walters, master of crime fiction, has spent the best part of a decade working on a sweeping, utterly gripping historical drama inspired by the plague’s arrival just four miles from her home. Here she will discuss with Chloe Fox the challenges of historical research and her exciting findings.
