Over ALSOs years we have curiously explored the link between mental and physical health, and for 2022 we open up the stage to leading psychiatrist Alastair Santhouse to explain, explore and lead the discussion of how treating the mind and understanding the patient can help treat their physical health. We’ve worked in this area at ALSO before with internationally-recognised expert, Dr Dani Gordon and world-leading Harvard medic, psychiatrist, surgeon and theologian, Dr Jeff Rediger and so we’re so pleased to have Alastair on the ALSO Stage to draw on his unique experience of treating thousands of hospital patients as a consultant psychiatrist at Guy’s Hospital and the Maudsley Hospital to show how our emotions are inextricably linked to our physical wellbeing.
