Maggie and Matt’s lives are full, with protein shakes, Ottolenghi dinner parties and a complete Le Creuset collection. Why then does Maggie feel so empty?

After a freak storm sets their freezer on the blink, Maggie finds herself craving the batch of brownies that she finds at the bottom.

But Maggie can’t seem to defrost her brownie without also spawning the younger Matt who made them a decade ago.

This Matt is nothing like the man she knows. Like his brownies, he’s stodgier, softer, and sweeter too.

Maggie can’t resist falling for Matt all over again, but – with so few brownies, so little time, and present-Matt growing suspicious – should she?
