The brand new novel Force of Nature by C.J. Box has it's worldwide publication next week - and will debut on the New York Times bestseller lists at a record high #3! Here we have a guest blog post from the man himself:
'For years, readers asked me when I would write "The Nate Book," meaning a novel on my character Nate Romanowski, who is an outlaw falconer with a mysterious special forces background. For years, I said I thought Nate was best in small and intense doses. I was being honest.
But several years ago I was reading a non-fiction book called "The Looming Tower" by Lawrence Wright. It's a fascinating, well-documented history of al-Qaida and it won the Pulitzer Prize in the U.S. While I was reading, I stumbled upon a real-life incident that occurred in the Middle East in 1995. It was like a thunderclap hit when I realized that if Nate Romanowski had been there -- and given the circumstances and set-up he very well could have been -- it explained everything: Who he was, why he was that way, why he lived "under the grid", why assassins have been sent for him several times, and who is after him.
Using the real-life incident, I knew I had The Nate Book, now called FORCE OF NATURE.
The novel picks up just days after the close of COLD WIND, and it's a wild ride. The body count is quite high, as one would expect a Nate Romanowski book to be. The reception for the novel in the US has been unprecedented. I hope readers in the UK and Ireland feel the same way.' C.J. Box
