Be afraid...
With the nights drawing in, we're delighted to announce that Phil Rickman's past has returned to haunt him. For the first time ever, two early Rickman classics (his first two novels no less) are available in ebook format.
Before Merrily Watkins arrived in 1999, Phil Rickman wrote five supernatural thrillers that explored the darker side of rural life, a world where folklore and legend haunt the present. No horror clichés here – no vampires, no werewolves, no zombies – instead a dark sense of ‘otherness’, of primal fears and ancient longings echoing down through the centuries…
The books gained a cult following, with Ruth Rendell, Stephen King, Joanna Trollope, Peter James, Bernard Cornwell, Barbara Erskine and Diana Gabaldon all confirming themselves as fans.
The books are standalones, but do feature recurring characters. The confirmed Merrily Watkins fan may be surprised to discover that some of their favourite Ledwardine characters make their debut appearances here…
Stay tuned for news of the e-release of the other three early novels: The Man in the Moss; December; and The Chalice.
